About SFIA
SFIA has for over ten years represented the interests and standards of firearms and other security instructors in NSW.
SFIA previously contributed through the Security Industry Consultative Committee to the development of manuals, training videos, and the compilation of written and range tests approved for firearms students in NSW. These remain in use as an industry standard.
SFIA has been involved in legislative and industry changes aimed at improving training standards within the security industry, including training requirements for batons and handcuffs. SFIA supported the extension of firearms instruction from one day to three days for students and continues to advocate for improvements across the industry and among our peers.
